Police officers warned a motorist their car could be seized after they were seen ‘accelerating harshly’ around a Staffordshire beauty spot.
Officers from the Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) – a team of dedicated traffic cops – spotted the vehicle on Marquis Drive, near the Cannock Chase visitors’ centre, shortly before 10pm last night.
They said the driving was made even worse by the fact children were around the area.
Officers issued the driver with a section 59 warning – meaning their vehicle could be seized if they continue to drive in an anti-social manner.

A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: “Accelerating “harshly” around Marquis Drive is NOT acceptable – especially with the volume of people present including children.
“Section 59 warning issued to the driver.”
A number of car parks at Cannock Chase were closed yesterday by Staffordshire County Council – as local authority bosses were worried about the ‘extreme fire risk’ caused by the hot and dry weather conditions.
