Police have launched a manhunt for a convicted prisoner who escaped from a facility near to the Staffordshire border.
David James Bourassa, aged 47, failed to return to HMP Sudbury near Ashbourne on Tuesday, March 24, after being allowed to spend time in Leicester.
Bourassa was sentenced jailed at Leicester Crown Court in 2017 to serve 81 months for possession with intent to supply class B drugs, posession of an offensive weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “He is white, 6ft 1ins tall, slim and has blue eyes.
“He has tattoos on his chest and the name ‘Sarah’ on one of the fingers of his left hand.
“Bourassa has friends and family in Aylestone in Leicester and in Withywood, Bristol.
“If you have seen Bourassa or know of his whereabouts, please do not approach him, instead contact us immediately”
