Port Vale v Liverpool under-21s EFL Trophy LIVE as Vale make eight changes

Good evening from Vale Park. Port Vale are in action in their final group game of the EFL Trophy. Against them are Liverpool’s under-21 side looking for their first points in the tournament after defeats to Wigan and Tranmere.

The Vale are top of the group with a win, a draw and a penalty shoot-out bonus point from their two games. So, a draw would guarantee Vale’s progress while awin would send them through as guaranteed group winners to earn a home tie in the next round.

John Askey will make a number of changes, something that was always on the agenda regardless of the result in the FA Cup against KIng’s Lynn on Saturday.

But having lost that game 1-0, places miht be up for grabs for Saturday’s home game against Tramere in the league.

So, how will the Vale get on this evening? I’m The Sentinel and StokeonTrentlIve’s Port Vale reporter Mike Baggaley and am blogging LIVE from the game. So, follow me for all the build up, team news, action and reaction..
