‘Positive vibes’ – Stoke City fans have their say on Spurs target and missing piece

Stoke City fans have been having their say on Jack Clarke as Spurs try to send the winger on loan to the Championship.

The 20-year-old has been limited to three substitute appearances so far this season back at Tottenham after loan spells to Queens Park Rangers and first club Leeds.

But Michael O’Neill has been keen to bolster his attacking options following a season-ending injury for Tyrese Campbell. Steven Fletcher and Lee Gregory have also been in the treatment room.

Stoke have already brought in Rabbi Matondo on loan from Schalke and fans have taken to social media to discuss a potential move for Clarke.

Daniel Rosam: Just how good is our backroom team now with MON. Absolute chalk and cheese. Fantastic to see.

Michael Collins: Need a striker to play alongside.

Ben Cowie: This window is looking really positive so far. I’m not sure that centre forward really is as much of a priority as people think. Yes, we haven’t scored much recently, but I think that comes down to there being no pace and generally poor service to the forwards. Tyrese is the big miss goal wise, but he wasn’t playing as a number nine, he was creating chances for himself and others.

It’s that creativity we’re missing. We could have Aguero up front, but if he only gets one and a half chances per game, he’s not going to score that much. Fletcher, Brown and Gregory should be enough for us with decent service.

Part of the reason we find it hard to create chances has been the lack of pace. Defences know they can press us high without consequence and this is the problem that’s been addressed this window. More pace = more space = more chances. Who knows, Vokes might even score?

Paul Simcock: Positive vibes with incoming but how about a couple of strikers were as barren as the Sahara desert in that department.

Ash James: Quality signing. With this and a striker we will be some team!

Adam Bryning: I’m not to sure about this one. He was doing great with Leeds but I feel the move to Spurs slowed his development a lot. If he does come I’m hoping I’m wrong and he helps improve the team greatly.

David Johnson: Be a great signing and I’m sure MON and co are trying their hardest to get a striker. This window is always a difficult one anyway.

Callum Matthews: One of the best young talents I’ve seen. This lad is special. A future England international no doubt.
