Primary school tells several Year 3 pupils to remain at home after Covid-19 case

A school has urged parents to keep several junior pupils at home for two weeks following a coronavirus case in their bubble.

Hanley St Luke’s CE Aided Primary School has not revealed whether the person who has tested positive is a child or a member of staff.

But several youngsters from Year 3 are now being to self-isolate as a precaution.

A school statement said: “All of the children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.

“These children are in Year 3, but not all Year 3 will be close contacts.”

All other pupils are being urged to continue attending school unless they develop symptoms.
