Recap: Miles of queues and long delays on the M6 after two-car crash



Motorists are being warned they face long delays after a two-car crash left a vehicle facing the wrong way on the M6.

Highways England held all traffic heading northbound between Gailey and Stafford South shortly after 8.50am due to the incident.

Traffic has been held to let the affected vehicles and passengers get off the carriageway.

A spokesman for traffic monitoring company INRIX said: “All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident, two cars involved on M6 Northbound from J12 A5 (Gailey) to J13 A449 (Stafford South).

“Traffic was held from 08:55 to move the affected cars and passengers off the road.

“Sensors and CCTV show this is around two miles before J13. One of the cars was initially facing the wrong direction in lane three.”
