Return of the heatwave – temperatures to hit 27°C in Stoke-on-Trent

There’s nothing like a bit of sun to cheer you up – and the good news for Stoke-on-Trent is that we’re going to get quite a bit of it next week.

According to Met Office forecasts – the weather will start to get warmer from Monday (July 22) when we’re set for  21°C.

The following day it’s forecast that the temperature will be  24°C.

At present, Wednesday and Thursday look to be great days – with the Met Office predicting  27°C on both days! But don’t hold us to that – it is, after all, a Met Office prediction.

The forecasted nice weather is expected in Newcastle, Stafford and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

In the nice weather, remember to protect yourself against sunburn. Prevention is always best when it comes to avoiding long term skin damage. We all should only spend time in the shade when the sun is strongest. In the UK, this is between 11am and 3pm from March to October.

And the NHS advise we should use at least factor 30 sunscreen.

If you’ve been caught out by sunny weather and you’re suffering as a result, here are some ways to help relieve sunburn.
