Police and firefighters are at the scene after a car became stuck after being driven into floodwater.
Emergency services are on Maw Green Road, near Crewe, this evening.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “The heavy rain has caused the road to flood, unfortunately a vehicle has become stuck.
“The road will remain closed while the vehicle is recovered. We ask that drivers approach flooded areas with caution and assess the road before continuing to drive.”
The following roads in South Cheshire were said to be flooded or flooding earlier as heavier rain battered South Cheshire and surrounding areas:
-Bradeley Road/Orchard Court (Haslington)

-Minshull New Road (Crewe)
-Hungerford Road Small Roundabout (Crewe)

The Met Office Weather Forecast states: “Any remaining remnants of rain will clear through the evening to leave a mainly dry but quite cloudy night. Winds staying light for most areas.”
