Santa Tracker 2020: Follow Santa on his journey this Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is the most magical day of the year as santa races around the world delivering presents.

Thanks to the The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa tracker, children can watch exactly where he is in the world.

The tracker also gives you live details on where he’s heading and how many gifts he’s delivered so far.

As families leave out the mince pies, cherry and carrots for his reindeer it is the perfect way to get the kids all excited about his arrival.

You can track Santa on Christmas Eve here.

We’ve launched a new Christmas Facebook group to spread a little festive cheer in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

Join it here.

The NORAD Santa tracker began in 1955 in America, after an advertisement misprinted the telephone number for children to call Santa.

Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to NORAD.

The Director of Operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south from the North Pole.

Children who called were given updates on his location, and the tracker was born.

Before it became an interactive tool, children could find out where Santa was by calling the NORAD hot line in December.
