A primary school has had to temporarily shut its kitchen as all the catering staff are self-isolating following a coronavirus case.
Burnwood Community School, in Chell Heath, informed parents in a letter yesterday.
It means there will be no hot dinners available for pupils.
In her letter, headteacher Emma Wickham said: “We will only be able to provide a packed lunch to those children who claim free school meals due to benefits.
“This does not include children who are in reception and key stage one and receive meals because of the universal free school meal scheme.”
Other families are being asked to send their children to school with their own packed lunches.
Burnwood has reassured parents that the member of the catering team who has contracted Covid-19 has not had direct contact with pupils.
The kitchen staff routinely wear PPE while carrying out their lunchtime duties.
