Scunthorpe v Port Vale Live: Team news and updates from Carabao Cup

Good afternoon from Scunthorpe. It’s Port Vale’s first competitive game of 2020/21 as they kick off in the Carabao Cup.

The Vale don’t have a great record in this competition but have been in fine form in pre-season, beating Fleetwood, Nottingham Forest and Rochdale in their last three games.

They expect a step up in tempo and intensity for this one, but will be looking to pick up where they let off last season, having been eight games unbeaten when the campaign was cut short in March.

So, how will John Askey’s side get on?

I’m The Sentinel’s Port Vale reporter Mike Baggaley and am blogging live from the game. So, follow me for all the build up, team news, action and reaction.

We will have all the action as it happens through the afternoon. You can get in touch too via our Port Vale Facebook and Twitter accounts.
