David Prutton, Sky Sports’ resident Championship expert, has been busy predicting the results of tonight’s big games in the second tier.
And matches he’s been looking at include Stoke City’s trip to Blackburn Rovers and the televised game between struggling Middlesbrough and promotion hopefuls Leeds United.
We’re not sure why, but Prutton, the former Leeds, Forest and Southampton midfielder, seems to have it in for the Potters and usually predicts the worst for them if he can.
And he’s been at it again by tipping a 2-1 defeat for Michael O’Neill’s men at Ewood Park, a result that would leave them teetering on the edge of the Championship relegation zone.
Rovers are certainly the form team going into the match, but Stoke have a decent record at Ewood Park, and won there under Nathan Jones last season.
Prutton is also predicting a 2-2 draw for bottom club Barnsley at Hull City, but the best news for Stoke is his forecast of a 2-1 home defeat for Boro – which also keeps the Teesiders right in the relegation mix.
In other games this evening, Prutton is predicting a 1-0 home success for Fulham over Swansea City, while Gary Rowett’s Millwall are tipped to draw 2-2 with in-form Birmingham City at the New Den.
