A Staffordshire man has been left heartbroken after his parents and sister all contracted COVIID-19 and died within two weeks.
Richard MacVicar has lost his mum Jean, aged 82, dad Keith, aged 84, along with his sister Jayne.
He said that he had been left feeling like someone has “stolen my heart”.
Keith and Jean died a fortnight ago and Jayne soon after became ill with the virus.
The mum-of-two, aged 62, developed symptoms soon after her parents’ deaths, with her younger brother Richard, who lives in Burton, then asked friends to pray for her recovery.
He posted on social media: “Come on, Jayne, stay strong and fight this please.”
But on Saturday, April 11, the 60-year-old revealed his sister had died at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital.
He said: “It’s with heartbreaking regret to say Jayne has lost her battle for life.
“At least we have the comfort of knowing she is back with mum and dad.
“To lose half your family in the space of two weeks feels like someone has cut me open and stolen my heart. So, so wrong.”
Before her death, Jayne had posted multiple messages on Facebook urging people not to ignore social distancing guidelines and to isolate at home.
The former Staffordshire Police crime analyst had swapped her profile picture for one that said: “Stay home, it could save lives.”
