Staffordshire wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Mellor is jetting off to Spain later this month to represent England.
Mellor, who plays his club cricket for Leek in the North Staffs and South Cheshire League, is part of a 13-man squad representing England in the European Cricket Championship.
All of the players have been selected from National Counties Cricket Association sides for the T20 competition, which is being held in La Manga.
The 15 competing nations have been split into three groups, with Group A having commenced this week and Group B being played next week.
England are in Group C and will start their campaign on September 27. If they are successful, they will be in Spain until October 8.
They face double headers in a round-robin format and will face Italy, Germany, Finland and the Czech Republic in their group. The top two in each group qualify for finals week.
Group A features Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Norway and Sweden, while Group B is made up of the Netherlands, Austria, Romania, Portugal and Hungary.
Mellor, aged 30, captained Staffordshire in the Knockout Trophy this summer and also hit two centuries in the Championship campaign.
England squad: Luke Webb (Dorset), Dan Lincoln (Berkshire), Arthur Godsal (Wiltshire), Euan Woods (Berkshire), Harrison Ward (Oxfordshire), Tom Bevan (Wales), Alex Russell (Herefordshire), Richard Edwards (Wales), Sam Pearce (Wales), Zam Akhtar (Hertfordshire), Max Uttley (Berkshire), Andy Rishton (Berkshire), Alex Mellor (Staffordshire).
