Stoke City 1 Nottingham Forest 1 – Michael O’Neill verdict amid fog and frustration

Stoke City are looking to end the year in the Championship top six as they welcome Nottingham Forest to the bet365 Stadium.

Stoke are one place and two points outside the play-off zone after a goalless draw against Coventry at the weekend but now have back-to-back home games against Forest and Bournemouth to reach the season’s half-way point.

Michael O’Neill has key men starting to return from injury including Joe Allen, Sam Clucas and John Obi Mikel but he remains without Morgan Fox (hamstring) and Tyrese Campbell (knee).

Forest are only two places and two points above the bottom three, with Chris Hughton arriving in October tasked with dragging the side away from a relegation battle.
