Stoke City fans given return update as transfer plan revealed

Fans given return update

Stoke City fans will not get the chance to see the Potters in action from the stands this season, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson set out the roadmap to the easing of lockdown restrictions on Monday.

It has been announced that fans could return from May 17 at the earliest, but that will come too late for Stoke, with their final game of the season being on May 8.

It means that Stoke fans will have been away from the stadium for over a year, but will hope to return when the new season starts in the summer.

Afobe reveals transfer plans

The forward is spending the season on loan at Turkish club Trabzonspor in the search for more regular gametime after falling down the pecking order at the Bet365 Stadium.

After over half a season in Turkey, Afobe has spoken out about his future.

“I’ve still got two years after this season at Stoke. Everyone forgets I’m still on loan from Stoke. Trabzonspor has been good for me, but if I’m honest to myself I think I want to come back to England,” he told The Beautiful Game podcast.

“But four months is a long time in a footballer’s career so anything can happen. We change like the weather. One day I’m like, ‘Mum, you know what, I miss England’, then other days I’ll be like, ‘Mum, I’m comfy, I’m comfy.’”
