Stoke City supporters have wasted no time in sending their best wishes to manager Michael O’Neill after the club revealed he has tested positive for cornonavirus.
His test results are believed to have emerged shortly before Stoke were due to play Manchester United in a practice match at United’s Carrington training ground on Tuesday.
O’Neill will be in self isolation for at least a week and his assistant Billy McKinlay will take charge of training ahead of the Reading game on June 20.
But supporters have made clear that the priority is their manager’s health as they have left messages on our dedicated Stoke City Facebook page.
More than 60 messages had been posted within nine hours of the story breaking late on Tuesday.
