The January transfer links are starting for Stoke City with an apparent interest reported in Sheffield United left-back Rhys Norrington-Davies.
Michael O’Neill brought in Morgan Fox as a free agent from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer to fill a hole that has been in Stoke’s squad sine Erik Pieters was ushered out of the door by Nathan Jones in January 2019.
Fox is still the only senior out-and-out left-back, however, although O’Neill has this season mostly played with wing-backs in a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, using James McClean and Josh Tymon.
Football Insider claims that both Stoke and Burnley are keen on 21-year-old Norrington-Davies, who is currently out on a season-long loan at Luton Town. He spent last season on loan at Rochdale.
The defender is another Wales international – and Clayton Wood might be turning into the Valleys of the Potteries. Fox, Adam Davies, Joe Allen, James Chester and Sam Vokes are already on the books.

In fact, the Swansea City youth graduate has impressed as a wing-back in a 3-4-3 for Wales since he got his first cap last month.
