Stoke City linked with move for Aston Villa ace to solve big transfer problem

Stoke City are targeting a swoop for Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis as the Potters look to keep their Championship promotion hopes alive.

The Potters are currently experiencing a striker crisis at the Bet 365 Stadium with top scorer Tyrese Campbell on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

Steven Fletcher then limped out of their defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend which has left Michael O’Neill’s side short up front with fans urging the club to act swiftly as they chase a top-six finish.

And they are now, according to the Daily Mail, the Potters have put Villa’ Davis at the top of their January wishlist in a bid to pep-up their attack.

But Stoke face a battle to lure Davis away from Villa Park with the forward having recently come off the bench in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Davis is rated highly by boss Dean Smith who also gave him a run out in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea which suggests the forward has an important role to play at Villa this season.
