Stoke City are being linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher.
The 33 year old is out of contract this summer and, according to Teamtalk, Stoke are one of three Midlands clubs interested in the target man.
They reckon Derby County and West Brom are also keen on a player who Wednesday would like to keep.
Fletcher has scored 13 goals in 29 games for Wednesday this season – and 38 from 100 starts and 35 substitute appearances in total since signing from Sunderland four years ago.
Fletcher began his career at Hibs before a £3m move to Burnley in 2009. He moved on to Wolves before Sunderland paid £12m for him in 2012.
Meanwhile, Stoke are preparing to return to action after the EFL named June 20 as the comeback date for the Championship.
Stoke’s players returned to training, in small groups, last week and are being regularly tested for Covid-19.
Like the rest of the Championship, Stoke had nine games to play when the campaign was suspended in mid-March.
Stoke are 17th having been led out of the relegation zone by Michael O’Neill following his appointment in November.
