Stoke City player ratings v Nottingham Forest as Joe Bursik called to action

Stoke City completed their unique 2020 schedule with a foggy home draw with Nottingham Forest. Here are the player ratings from a bitterly cold bet365 Stadium.

Bursik: Swept up well and no chance with the equaliser. Brilliant one-on-one save to stop Cafu. 8

Smith: Put in a shift at right wing-back but Forest could deal with his crosses. 6

McClean: Also being asked to do a job for the team at wing-back. 6

Collins: Tried to push forward when had the chance in first half but forced back in second. 6

Souttar: Stood tall as Stoke increasingly had their backs against the wall. 6

Chester: Unlucky with the own goal but late pass across own area put side into trouble. 6

Allen: Gave Stoke added oomph to get up the pitch as he ends 2020 with first start since March. 7

Thompson: Inswinging corner led to opener as he played in a deeper playmaking role. 6

Powell: Took some treatment again but happy to battle. Could do with a game when he gets to show his quality on the ball too soon. 6

Vokes: Good link up play land forced a good save from Samba just before opener. 7

Brown: Worked hard off the ball with slim pickings up front. 6

Substitutes

Clucas (for Allen, 61): Welcome return but had to dig in for the final half hour. 6

Mikel (for Thompson, 67): Terrible back pass put Cafu straight in on goal. 5

Oakley-Boothe (for Powell, 82): Drew attention from Forest players. 6

Ince (for Brown, 82): Had chance to run at defence in final minute but lost control.
