Stoke City’s rivals target striker as Hearts consider winger

The start of the new Championship season is just a matter of weeks away, and there’s plenty of business to be done before the big kick-off.

The 2020/21 campaign is set to get underway on September 12, just over a month after the previous season concluded.

With the transfer window open, clubs have already been dipping into the market, and there plenty of big deals still in the offing.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Championship.

Derby interested in Roberts

Derby County are interested in signing Tyler Roberts from Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

That is according to a report in The Times, who are reporting the Rams are monitoring the 21-year-old following Leeds’ £27 million capture of Valencia’s Rodrigo.

Roberts has played in a number of positions across the front line for Leeds, scoring four goals in 23 league appearances last season.

Wilson eyed by Prem pair

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are in talks and offering similar deals to Bournemouth in a bid to land Callum Wilson.

That is according to Sky Sports News, who are reporting that Bournemouth are thought to be demanding a £30m fee and Wilson a £75,000-a-week pay packet.

Wilson has made 187 appearances, scored 67 goals and provided 30 assists since joining the Cherries in 2014.

Ginnelly eyed by Hearts

Hearts are interested in signing Preston North End winger Josh Ginnelly.

That is according to a report from The Scotsman, who claim Hearts have been keeping a watchful eye on Ginnelly for some time now.

Ginnelly is out of contract next summer and spent the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan in League One with Bristol Rovers.
