A one-way road is shut in a Stoke-on-Trent town centre due to an oil spilage.
The A52 Elenora Street, Stoke, is shut between the junctions with Liverpool Road and Copeland Street.
The closure comes following an accident earlier today.
Specialist work is required to clear up the oil – with Stoke-on-Trent City Council saying the work will be carried out on Friday.
A diversion around the one-way system is in place.
A City Council spokesman said: “Elenora Street, in Stoke town, is closed from the junction of Liverpool Road, with a diversion around the one-way system in place.
“This is because of an accident early this morning in which oil spilled onto the junction. Specialist repair work will be needed to resurface the road, and it is expected the road will be closed until Friday while this work takes place.
“Motorists are asked to please bear this in mind and to allow a little extra time for their journeys. Access will be maintained to the Spode site and to business Fletcher Moorland, which is located in Elenora Street.”
