Stoke-on-Trent road to reopen almost two months after being forced to shut

A Stoke-on-Trent road is due to reopen almost two months after it was forced to close.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has today revealed Market Street in Longton will reopen tomorrow afternoon (November 14).

The busy road has been closed since September 15 when highways officials said a building was deemed unsafe.

The council says the repair work has now taken place.

A city council spokesman said: “Following the successful completion of essential safety work to a private building on Market Street, Longton, we are now in a position where we can reopen the road.

“The road will be open again to traffic from around midday tomorrow (Saturday).”
