More children have been told to stay away from a primary school after a second coronavirus case in a week.
The latest Covid-19 case at Sutherland Primary Academy, in Blurton, affects a ‘member of the school community’ in year three.
It has not been disclosed whether the coronavirus-hit individual is a pupil or a member of staff.
Now a number of children who have been in ‘close contact’ with the person have been told to stay at home for 14 days.
It comes just days after a year five pupil at the Beaconsfield Drive school also tested positive for coronavirus.
In a letter to parents, the school said: “We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
“The carefully identified children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.”
