Stoke-on-Trent’s latest beauty salon is now open for bookings inside this indoor market

Stoke-on-Trent’s newest salon is now open for bookings – with a range of treatments and services available.

Based inside Hanley Indoor Market, Amore Beauty has been launched by beautician and nail tech Toni Ball, from Sneyd Green, who has ‘always dreamed of opening her own salon’.

The 23-year-old mum finally took the plunge this month after delivering treatments on and off for six years from home.

After having her son, Chester, now aged seven months, Toni knew it was finally time to take the leap and make her passion for beauty her full-time job.

She will be offering a variety of treatments, such as make-up application, spray tans, manicures – including gel and acrylic nails – eyelash treatments and eyebrow services.

Toni said: “It was never really the right time. I was working from home and also doing other jobs off and on to pay the bills, but after I had my baby I just thought, why not? I decided to go for it.

“This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and it’s the first time I have been able to dedicate all of my time to beauty.”

With the help of her family and friends, Toni searched for the perfect space for her salon, before coming across an empty unit in Hanley’s Indoor Market. She snapped it up and started decorating.

She explained: “I have made the unit completely my own and it really is my dream salon. Throughout doing nails, my theme has always been very feminine, so I wanted a space that I knew I’d be able to fit to that style.

“My number one thing that I wanted was a flower wall, so when that went up it was just the icing on the cake. I’ve had so many compliments from people who have seen the salon, it’s just made all of my efforts and hard work worthwhile.

“We have all worked so hard over four weeks to make perfect and I’m so happy with how it looks. I couldn’t have done it all without the support of my family and friends, especially my partner, Dylan Buxton and my mum Michelle, who has always been my biggest support.”

Despite the excitement of her new venture, Toni’s priority is still very much to keep her clients – and herself – safe.

She said: “I will be wearing a visor and a face mask for all treatments and I have Covid consultation forms that I will go through with all clients. I do ask them to wear masks as well.

“Hand sanitiser is also available. It’s just me in the salon at the moment so I will only see one person at a time. People are welcome to walk-in and ask for information or appointments, as long as I am not with a client.

“Working from home had its perks, such as no overheads, but having a place of work feels much more professional and I can keep my home for home, and my place of work for work. I think clients prefer to come here too as it feels a lot safer for both of us to come to a salon rather than someone’s home.

“I am looking forward to seeing new and returning clients and building the business.”
