Stunned Stokie horrified to find blood stained sheets in holiday Travelodge


Horrified Stokie Mahrokh Daneshnia was shocked to discover blood spattered on the sheets in her Scottish Travelodge room.

Mahrokh, from Trentham, was on holiday North of the border earlier this month when she made the disgusting discovery.

She then took to TripAdvisor to leave a scathing review of the Cameron Toll saying sheets with ‘visible stains’ should not be used ‘especially in the current COVID situation when we all feel a bit worried,’ reports EdinburghLive.

Hotels in Scotland were allowed to reopen last month after the coronavirus lockdown was eased.

In her review Mahrokh wrote: “Location was good for our need but it was very noisy if you have to keep the window open. The hotel doesn’t have air-con and it was a warm night so we had to open the small window but couldn’t get sleep due to street noise. The room we had was very basic with a window high up so you couldn’t see the outside at all.

“The sheets also had blood stains in many places so it didn’t feel nice to sleep there but mattress was comfortable. I understand they wash the sheets but the ones with visible stains shouldn’t be used especially in the current COVID situation when we all feel a bit worried.”

A contrasting review of the same hotel left on 12 August – five days earlier – said “it’s one of the cleanest and nicest Travelodges we’ve stayed in.”

As part of the new Travelodge Protect coronavirus mitigations, the hotel chain say that they have put enhanced cleaning measures in place, including cleaning using antiviral disinfectant effective against  coronavirus, increased cleaning frequency of high touch points in public areas and bedrooms, additional post clean room checks with digital tracking in place to ensure consistently high standards and all linen and towels are being thermally disinfected.

A spokesperson said: “If Ms. Daneshnia had informed the hotel team of her concerns during her stay, they would have investigated and offered an immediate resolution.

“We have contacted Ms. Daneshnia to discuss and investigate her recent stay with us.”
