Supermarket hits out over ‘unnecessary vocal abuse’ from customers

A supermarket in a Staffordshire Moorlands village has hit out about the ‘unnecessary vocal abuse’ they have been receiving from customers.

Keith’s Supermarket, on High Lane, Brown Edge, has put a sign up saying they are only permitting one person per household.

The notice adds:  “People will be asked to wait outside in busy periods.  Please do not abuse the staff.  We are here to help & keep you safe.”

On the supermarket’s social media page manager Michelle said it was a ‘serious notice’.

She said:  “We have had high volumes of unnecessary vocal abuse this morning.

“Please these rules are put in place as of government guidelines and for your own safety as much as mine and my colleagues.

“The longer these are adhered to the longer we can stay open and serve the community.”
