Teenage boys arrested after man assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent cashpoint robbery

Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested after a man was assaulted during a robbery at a cash machine in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called after the victim – a 21-year-old – used a cashpoint at McColls store on Newcastle Street, Middleport.

Two males approached him and demanded money.  They then chased the man and threw him to the ground before assaulting him.

The attackers fled with cash after members of the public intervened.

Staffordshire Police say the victim sustained minor injuries and was left ‘understandably shaken’ following the attack – which took place shortly before 5pm last Thursday (April 2).
