Tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, cash and other items have been stolen from two caravans in North Staffordshire.
Police were called to the scene off Hardingswood Road, Kidsgrove, shortly after 6.20pm on August 29, following reports the valuables had been taken from two mobile homes while the owners were away.
Now officers are appealing for any information as they investigate the matter and try to return the belongings, many of which were of great sentimental value, to their owners.
Detective Constable David Jackson, from CID North at Staffordshire Police, said: “We’re really interested in hearing from anyone who might have any information as to who’s responsible for this.
“It’s believed the offenders used a vehicle to get to and from the scene so if you saw anything suspicious in the area at that time then please get in touch.
“Many items, of great personal significance to the victims, have been taken and we’re continuing to carry out extensive inquiries into reuniting these people with their belongings.”
