These 10 dogs spent Christmas Day at a shelter – can you give them a forever home in 2021?

Terrier cross Luke is one of 10 dogs who sadly spent their Christmas Day at animal shelter this year.

The gorgeous lad, like his kennel mates, is looking for a forever home in the new year.

The 13-year-old is in need of a place to live out his golden years after his previous owner fell ill and had to move away.

He’s currently being cared for at Animal Lifeline, who say he’ll do anything for a sausage (like wearing a Santa hat!).

A spokeswoman for the kennels said: “Luke is a handsome lad who certainly doesn’t act his age, and will do anything for a bit of sausage.

“He’s been overlooked for some time now, and doesn’t care much for other dogs. Luke would be best as an only-dog so that he doesn’t need to share anyone’s attention.”

In his bio ‘Luke’ said: “Although I have been very well looked after here with all my meals, lots of walks and play and even a heated pen, I think it is time that I gave my kennel up to another needy dog and got myself a home of my own and if you’re really lucky, I’ll even show you my party trick – waving!”

Luke is just one of the dogs featured in out Give a Pet a Home gallery this week. Please take a minute to scroll through the gorgeous dogs waiting in kennels for a family.

StokeonTrentLive have been helping rehome dogs and cats in need of forever families across North Staffordshire for several years.

We’ve been working with Animal Lifeline, City Dogs Home and the RSPCA Blakely Farm to help them find loving homes for the animals they take in.

If you think you could offer one of the dogs a home please contact Cassie at cassie@animallifeline.org.uk or ring our re-homing coordinator on 01782 638341
