These are the stores which will remain open at The Potteries Centre during lockdown

Shoppers will be able to visit just five essential stores inside Stoke-on-Trent’s main shopping centre – but can still click and collect.

As the UK enters a second national lockdown, non-essential retailers at the former intu Potteries have been forced to close for a second time this year.

Whilst some stores will be providing access to vital services like pharmacies and postal services, others are still able to operate a click and collect service – including Game for the latest Xbox and PlayStation releases.

Changes to the shopping centre include access to the car park only via Quadrant Road, with entrances by Quadrant Road, Topshop and Superdry opening. All other entrances will be closed, alongside the toilet facilities.

Amy Whittaker, General Manager for The Potteries Centre, said: “The festive season is always a busy period for us, but the Government’s latest announcement means Christmas will understandably look a little different this year.

“Earlier this week, we were able to extend our shopping hours to ensure our customers had as much time as possible to shop, ahead of the new measures. The fact that many of our retailers will still be able to offer a click and collect service means customers can still stay on top of their Christmas shopping.

“In addition, there are also a number of essential shops that will remain fully open. And, with some great takeaway food and drink options available, there are still some great opportunities for visitors to grab a bite to take home and enjoy.

“To ensure the safety of all our visitors, a number of safety measures remain in place throughout the centre. These include the requirement to wear face coverings within the centre, increased cleaning regimes and hand sanitisation points.

“We’d also like to thank all of our retailers for working with us to quickly adapt to these changes to ensure we’re still able to serve shoppers safely over the coming weeks.”
