This teenage rapist is due to learn his fate next month (plus 6 other cases)


Teenager Thomas Howells has been found guilty of rape.

The 19-year-old, of Salkeld Place, Chell Heath, denied the charge, but was convicted after a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on January 29 after a report is prepared on him by probation.

Hie remains on bail in the meantime.

SHELTON:

Forty-two-year-old Ibrahim Abdulghani, of Snow Hill, Shelton, has denied two charges of having an article with a blade or point on June 8.

His trial will be held at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court in the week commencing March 8. He has been remanded in custody.

MEIR:

Thirty-one-year-old Emma Lovatt, of Mollison Road, Meir, has denied possession of class A drug heroin with intent to supply on October 10.

Her trial will be held at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court in the week beginning May 17.

She has been bailed in the meantime.

STOKE-ON-TRENT:

Forty-year-old Philip Browne, of Roliston Road, Burton, has pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child between September 26 and September 30.

He will be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court after a report is prepared on him by a probation officer.

He has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced in the week commencing February 8.

STOKE-ON-TRENT:

Haroon Hussain, aged 27, and Muazzam Naseer, aged 23, both of HMP Dovegate, have pleaded not guilty to violent disorder but have admitted affray on March 17, 2019.

Judge Sally Hancox entered not guilty pleas in respect of the violent disorder charges.

The defendants will be sentenced for the affray on January 7 and have been remanded in custody.

HANLEY:

Thirty-two-year-old Craig Fairclough, of Downey Street, Hanley, has denied attempted rape between November 18 and November 20.

His trial will be held at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on June 21.

Fairclough has been remanded in custody, although his legal team are expected to make a bail application in the near future.

BIRCHES HEAD:

Twenty-eight-year-old Cassandra Harvey, of Moston Street, Birches Head, has admitted assault by beating on July 30.

But she has denied having a knife in Broadfield Road, Goldenhill, on the same date.

Her trial will be held at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court in the week commencing June 28.
