Three arrested in Lidl car park after police called to nearby ‘suspicious’ incident



Three men have been arrested in a Lidl car park after police were called to a nearby suspicious incident.

Officers were initially dispatched to Fletcher Bank in Newcastle-under-Lyme at around 7.30pm this evening, before their investigation led them to the discount supermarket’s car park.

Eyewitnesses report seeing at least four police vehicles arrive at the car park.

Once there, three men were taken into custody on suspicion of drugs offences.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: “We were made aware of a suspicious incident at 7.30pm in Fletcher Bank, Newcastle.

“Patrols attended and eventually ended up on the car park at Lidl where three men were detained.

“The men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.”
