Two crashes on same stretch of A34 in four hours as road is shut in Stoke-on-Trent tonight

Emergency services are dealing with an accident on a major Stoke-on-Trent road – just fours after being called to the same spot.

The A34 Newcastle Road, in Trent Vale, is closed in both directions after a Mini Cooper overturned following a crash with a Vauxhall van outside The Orange Tree.

The accident has taken place between Clayton Lane and Keelings Drive, with traffic data company Inrix reporting that traffic is affected between Newcastle and the A500 Hanford Interchange.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “It came to us at 5.35pm. It’s a two vehicle RTC between a white Vauxhall van and a silver Mini which had overturned on to its roof.
