A car has overturned in a collision on the M6 motorway in Staffordshire this evening – Monday June 29.
Two lanes are closed and there is heavy traffic due to an overturned car on the southbound carriageway between J15 A500 D Road (Stoke-On-Trent) and J14 A34 (Stafford North).
Lanes one and two (of three) are closed- according to traffic data company Inrix.
The contraflow was briefly closed while firefighters ‘corrected’ the overturned vehicle but has now reopened.
A Highways England spokesman said: “Lane 1 & 2 closed M6 southbound J15 Stoke to J14 Stafford North due to a collision – HGV/Car.
“Traffic Officers en route & Free Recovery.”
The collision was first reported at around 4.45pm.
This is separate to the accident involving a lorry and a van on the northbound carriageway in Cheshire.
