Two rescued by firefighters after car ends up on side on bypass



Two people were freed from their vehicle after it ended up on its side following a collision.

The A534 Wheelock Bypass, near Sandbach, was closed after emergency services were called to the crash on Sunday afternoon.

The trapped pair were rescued and handed into the care of paramedics,

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said two fire engines had attended the scene at around 1.40pm.

She added:  “On arrival crews found a vehicle on its side and two people trapped inside it.

“The road was closed as firefighters worked at the scene.

“They stabilised the vehicle and got both casualties out of it before handing them over to the care of paramedics.

“Firefighters also checked over a second vehicle for leaks.
