Tyrese Campbell could be out for season due to knee injury

Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury.

The 20-year-old landed awkwardly in the second half of Tuesday night’s 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff City.

Campbell had been enjoying some fine form at the Championship club with six league goals in his last 12 games as he continues to attract interest from Premier League clubs.

Stoke City have taken to social media this afternoon to announce that Campbell is likely to miss the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

A spokesman said: “Stoke City can confirm that Tyrese Campbell is likely to miss the remainder of the 2020/21 season.”

Manager Michael O’Neill said at the time: “He came off with his knee and it’s too early to say.

“We will see how he is but it was a blow to lose him.”
