Motorists heading northbound on the M6 face long delays north of Cheshire after a lorry jackknifed on the carriageway.
The North West Motorway Police revealed there were long delays on the M6 between junction 21, Warrington, and junction 21a, the Croft Interchange, shortly after 8.45am today (March 11).
Traffic cameras show congestion is now building up to junction 20 – with delays expected throughout the morning.
A North West Motorway Police spokesman said: “We have a report of a Lorry has jack knifed on the M6 J21 to J21a northbound – traffic is backing up.
“Please find an alternative route. Ambulance also attending along with Police and Highways.”
Highways England also revealed traffic was backing up.
A spokesman said: “Multi-vehicle collision on M6 north just before Croft Interchange.
“All lanes are blocked.”
