Updates: One hour delays on M6 motorway due to lorry fire in Staffordshire

Drivers are being warned of hour-long delays on the M6 motorway in Staffordshire this morning (Wednesday, December 9) due to a lorry fire.

The fire is on the northbound carriageway between junction 14 and junction 15 and two lanes are closed.

Firefighters are at the scene.

Highways England first confirmed they were at the scene at around 7.20am.

A spokesman said: “The M6 northbound J14 (Stafford North A34) to J15 (Stoke-on-Trent A500) two lanes have been closed due to a collision.

“Traffic officers, firefighters and recovery are on their way to the area.”
