A vape shop is opening a second Potteries branch after a successful 12 months in business.
A brand new Vape King store in Longton will welcome its first customers tomorrow tomorrow, as non-essenstial shops are allowed to reopen following lockdown.
The Fenton store opened in April 2019 and owner Sibtain Kheurshid-Hashmi said its success had ‘exceeded expectations’. The 34-year-old, from Lightwood, said: “I didn’t even vape before, but I had a friend who was a distributor of vape products.
“It wasn’t planned, but I opened the Fenton branch as I owned the property, and it exceeded expectations, so I wanted to branch out.”
Sibtain has had keys to the property on The Strand since last August, just four months after launching Vape King.
He added: “We started work on the building, then Covid-19 got in the way and delayed the launch. We were originally going to open on June 3 but, after the government released new advice, we changed the opening date to June 15.”
Vape King will be selling a wide range of brands and stocking products such as e-cigarette liquid, hardware and accessories.
Sibtain said: “We will have the largest stock in the city, and if we don’t have something in stock, we will get it in the next day.
“We will be social distancing in store, and only have two customers in at a time.
“We will provide face masks and hand sanitiser to customers, and will also be selling some PPE equipment.”
The entrepreneur is excited about setting up shop in Longton, and hopes the business will be as successful as the Fenton branch.
He added: “Longton is really on the up and we are really excited. There’s a lot of footfall and the shops are building up again. The cafes and market are always busy.
“It’s a shame about coronavirus, or this would have been the ideal time to open.”
The store is also holding a competition on their Facebook page to win a £50 voucher to spend at either the Fenton or Longton branch.
