Stoke City fans have been looking ahead to tonight’s Carabao Cup tie with Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur.
The Potters take on Jose Mourinho’s side in the quarter-finals, with the tasty-looking clash taking place at the bet365 Stadium (5.30pm kick-off).
Stoke have beaten Premier League duo Wolves and Aston Villa to get to this stage, as well as Blackpool and Gillingham, but are major underdogs this time around.
Should they get through, it would be only the fourth time in the club’s history they have reached the last four of the competition.
Here’s what Potters supporters have been saying on our Facebook page and on Twitter ahead of the big match.
Paul Heath: Stoke 0 Spurs 3 hope I’m wrong but with a full strength team we would given them a game but injuries will cost us I think.
Lee Ralphy: Realistically if we just sit back we will get destroyed. We need a balanced approach. Strong at the back with no rash challenges and a bit of pace/hold up play up top.
Dave Harley: 1-1 then penalties. A win and I would be over the moon.
Belinda Dyrda: Through the years we’ve come to expect plenty of goals.
Darren Woolley: 1-0 stoke.
Adam Ty Warrillow: 0-0.
@stokiestevep: League cup 1/4 at home to one of the best teams in the country at the moment. Jose in the opposite dugout, our ridiculous goalkeeping crisis and a team the fans are right behind again. What a night and atmosphere tonight would of been! #SCFC
@Bennynick: Win or lose, I’m so looking forward to us playing one of the “big teams” again. Excited to see how we’re going to get on. No doubt Michael O’Neil will be looking forward to it too. #SCFC #CarabaoCup
Joe Bursik is cup-tied for Stoke, who also have three other senior injured goalkeepers in Adam Davies, Angus Gunn and Niki Maenpaa.
Michael O’Neill is weighing up whether to hand a first start to Blondy Nna Noukeu, aged 19, or 37-year-old Andy Lonergan.
Nick Powell (knee) and John Obi Mikel (calf) are expected to sit out while Joe Allen is not quite ready yet. Sam Clucas, Lee Gregory and Tyrese Campbell are all missing.
