Bojan struck a chord with Stoke City fans as he spoke with compassion about the coronavirus crisis.
The playmaker couldn’t get his head around the fact that some people are trying to fix a date on the return of football when the world is still trying to get to grips with this pandemic.
“I am really concerned because what we are experiencing is uncontrollable and it is taking many people ahead,” he added. “So, please, let’s worry about what really matters, which is saving lives and preventing the health crisis from turning into an economic crisis of unimaginable consequences.
“This virus makes us all equal: here there are no different nationalities, rich and poor, there are no races or languages… In this fight, we are all together or we will all pay the consequences.”
Bojan, now with Montreal Impact and writing for Sport, remains as popular as ever with his old fans in the Potteries.
That showed in the responses which flooded in to this story.
