Woman charged after crash in Stoke-on-Trent road



A woman will appear in court after being charged following a crash in a Stoke-on-Trent road.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Anchor Road, Adderley Green, shortly before 6pm yesterday following the collision.

Paramedics at the scene treated a woman before she was discharged at the scene.

Now police have charged Valerie McDowall, of Hurst Street, Longton, with failing to provide a specimen after the crash.

The 56-year-old has been bailed and will appear before magistrates next month.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Anchor Road in Adderley Green.

“A 56-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent has been charged with failing to provide a specimen.

“Valerie McDowall of Hurst Street, Longton, has been bailed ahead of a court appearance next month.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 5.54pm yesterday to reports of concern for a patient’s welfare in Anchor Road in Longton.

“One ambulance attended the scene. We treated one patient, a woman, and she was discharged at the scene.”
