Woman struck and car hits house after crash on busy town road


A 35-year-old woman was injured and a car hit a house after a collision on a busy street.

Police and paramedics were called to Brook Street in Congleton shortly before 1pm this afternoon (February 26).

Firefighters say the collision involved two vehicles and the pedestrian. Pictures from the scene show three vehicles appeared to be involved.

One StokeonTrentLive reader said: “The road was blocked off going to Buglawton by highways and police officers were there.

“It was blocked off by the garage and off-licence – you could see the lights flashing.”

A crew from Sandbach and a crew from Holmes Chapel attended the scene.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters attended to a collision on Brook Street involving two cars and a pedestrian.

“No one was trapped in the vehicles and two people were handed into the care of paramedics.

“A 35-year-old woman was reported to have sustained no serious injuries.

“Crews made the scene safe.”
