Amazing! Watch as Dolly Parton tribute singer performs 9 To 5 from her driveway for her neighbours

Lockdown residents were certainly given something to smile about after a Dolly Parton tribute singer wooed them with some of the queen of country music’s classic hits including 9 to 5 – all from her driveway.

Lucy Floyd – who spent five years as a Dolly Parton tribute act  – gave her neighbours the surprise performance, donning a blonde wig as she belted out songs outside her home.

Lucy, who sounds and talks uncannily like the singer, wore a blue sparkly dress to entertain her neighbours with some of the singer’s biggest hits.

Lucy Floyd as Dolly Parton

Although her singing career is on hold during lockdown, Lucy – who lives in Swadlincote, near Burton-on-Trent – performed classics such as 9 To 5 and Islands in the Stream, which she dedicated to the late music star Kenny Rogers who sang the hit with Parton, and even did the Whitney Houston classic I will Always Love You which was originally written and performed by Parton.

Lucy, who observed social distancing throughout, said: “It started when they had the Clap for the NHS and we would go out and play music. Then one of our neighbours was having a birthday so I just thought I would do a little Dolly to boost everyone’s morale.

“The reaction was amazing. I had people over the fence saying they love it and people saying ‘my mum lives on your street and was telling me about’.

“It has been really positive. I was a bit surprised because I was really nervous before doing it.”

The 36-year-old has found her entertainment work has been stopped due to the coronavirus and all booked events she was due to attend until September have been cancelled, reports DerbyshireLive.

She used to work as ‘singing princesses’ where she would attend children’s birthday parties and sing to them dressed as a princess.

She later gave birth to her daughter, Sophia, now aged 5, and decided to start a Dolly Parton tribute when she was told she sounded very similar.

Sophia is the youngster who approaches Lucy in the video.
