Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was spotted trying car doors on a Stoke-on-Trent street in the early hours of this morning.
The man was spotted on Heathcote Street, Stoke, at around 3am today.
Witnesses say the male was aged in his late 30s or early 40s and approximately 6ft tall, wearing a black waterproof coat.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses or anybody with information after a man was reported to be walking up and down Heathcote Street, Stoke, trying car doors in the early hours of this morning (17 November).
“Witnesses say the male was aged in his late 30s or early 40s and approximately 6ft tall, wearing a black waterproof coat.
“He was spotted at about 3am trying car doors parked along the road and was last seen at the junction with Galsworthy Road.
“Anyone with any information should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 40 of November 17, call 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
