A major Stoke-on-Trent road was closed after armed police were called to a disturbance at a property in the city tonight.
Armed police were called because one of the people involved in the disturbance was believed to have a weapon.
One man is in custody and two air weapons have now been recovered.
Police have confirmed no one was injured and the incident on Scotia Road has now concluded.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said enquiries were ongoing and that police were called to the scene at around 9.40pm.
He said: “There was a disturbance at an address in Scotia Road. One person involved was said to be in possession of a firearm. Armed police were deployed.
“A 51-year-old male was arrested and is currently in custody at NSCF [North Staffordshire Custody Facility in Etruria].
“A search of the address recovered one air rifle and an air pistol.
“Nobody was injured.”
