A body has been discovered in the grounds of a Staffordshire castle.
Emergency services descended on Tamworth Castle in the early hours of Saturday (April 18).
But despite the best efforts of paramedics, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police have now confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Details of the man’s age and where he lives have not yet been released.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 6am on Saturday, April 18 to the grounds at Tamworth Castle.
“A man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We were called at 6.11am to reports of a medical emergency in the Castle Grounds, Tamworth.
“One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man.
“Sadly it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
