A 16-year-old boy had his neck slashed during an attack in a city park.
The victim was taken to hospital after he was assaulted in Bathpool Park in Kidsgrove.
Police said they believed the weapon used was a broken bottle. The victim’s injuries were not serious and he was released from the Royal Stoke University Hospital after his wound was stitched.
Staffordshire Police have tonight confirmed that two teenagers were arrested in connection with the incident, which took place shortly after midnight on Friday.
Two males, both aged 18, were questioned before being released on bail as enquiries continue.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after midnight by colleagues from the ambulance service. The injured party received a laceration to the neck which needed stitches.
“The weapon is believed to be a broken bottle which was searched for but not found.
“Officers spoke to witnesses and two males, both aged 18, were arrested in the early hours of Saturday. They have been bailed for further enquiries to take place.
